    I’m happy to meet you and that you’re considering taking this step!

     

    I'm a new mom, long time cat mom, a lover of travel, a musician, a counseling therapist, music therapist, yogi and healer.

     

    Even though today I have a great relationship with food and my body and I thoroughly enjoy eating, this wasn’t always case. I spent a lot of my life really struggling with food, hating my body and feeling so uncomfortable in it. I was diagnosed and hospitalized with anorexia at age 12 then went on to deal with bulimia throughout most of my teens and early adulthood.

     

    It took a while for me to heal and my food and body image issues went on for about a decade.

    It wasn’t until I did 2 things that I started to really get to the root of my issues so I could heal.

    First, I made a strong commitment to look at what was going on and to welcome what was reality as much as possible rather than numbing, avoiding or pretending all was well (this wasn’t always comfortable). Second, I sought out different support – somatic body based therapy, mindfulness and music therapy. Through these I was able to get into deeper places in my body and subconscious, to help actually repair and heal my relationship with my body and food as opposed to just manage it with other surface therapies

     

    I’m now a music counselling therapist (RCT, MTA) yoga teacher(RYT) and I work with philosophies from body centered counselling and intuitive eating. I’ve trained in all the same methods that powerfully helped me heal so I can support others. And now all of the struggle I went through has become a blessing, I can have compassion and understanding for others.

     

    I’m passionate about helping people have more room in their mind, more home in their body and more ease, pleasure and freedom in their lives.
